In 1994, Mike Mercer Sr. founded Mercer Technologies and Midwest Vacuum Pumps to offer comprehensive sales and service support to the thermal processing industry. From a start in a small facility in Brazil, Indiana, the companies began to build a solid client base while earning a reputation as an excellent provider of furnace rebuilds and field service.
In 1999, increasing customer demand brought about the relocation of the companies to our 27,000 square foot facility in Terre Haute, Indiana, allowing a broadening scope of service and client base.
In 2008, ever-increasing customer demand called for an additional 12,000 square foot facility to make room for Mercer Technologies’ Green Vacuum Series of rebuilt furnaces and equipment. Mercer Technologies currently employs 35 full-time individuals with annual revenues of more than $7 million.
